A BJP worker, Hafizur Sheikh, was brutally murdered in the Bhagachandpur area under Kaliganj police station in Nadia district. The incident occurred near his house on Saturday evening, where he was reportedly shot and then stabbed to death while playing carrom. Hafizur, 35, was known as a BJP worker, having joined the party during the last Lok Sabha election after previously being associated with the CPIM.
Relatives of the deceased claim that 10 to 12 miscreants were responsible for the attack and allege that the murder was orchestrated by Trinamool. Following the incident, the family and local residents detained Hafizur's body, accusing the police of inaction. BJP leaders quickly reached the scene, joining the relatives in demanding the arrest of the culprits.
